Looking for an alternative to the bench press. What would you guys suggest?

No, at least not ordinary ones. Simply put, they become too easy too soon for most people. You will not build significant muscle mass by doing 30+ reps. There are other more challenging pushing exercises for the upper body out there that would be more suitable for this purpose.

That being said, push ups are still a great exercise.

I think push up are the same but later i guess u ll must use some weight with weight vest or something else.

Dips also help.

of course you can build mass with pushups; try diferent types of pushups and train pyramid style, for example: 12-10-8-6-4-2-2-4-6-8-10-12 and repeat as many times u can (u can also add extra weight)

yea pushups are really good. there are many variations and you can do pyramids/supersets with them...those get very hard very fast

normal push ups wont put really mass on you.. go for the exersices where there is alot of weight or pressure on the muscle, such as hip push ups, elevated diamond push ups, handstand push ups, planche push ups 90 degree push ups , etc etc

Never doubt the push up. Once you start repping pushups easily, you will just have to add weight. If you don't want to buy a weight vest, you can fill a back pack with heavy objects or a bag of water. And always switch up your push up routine...wide, military, diamand, etc..
