I have a new pair of rings and when tried the muscle up on rings I fail to, on the fix bar I do 10 muscle up's in a row. Is technique, until you have the technique you must keep your arms on the way up as close to the body and in chin-up position only on top of move turn to pull-up explosive move and then the dip, see this video hope helped.

Thanks Chris. As much as I like watching people's body weight videos, I would say 85% of them the people in them don't say a word. It is kind of nice to get a bit fo a feel for the person you are watching.

I will keep plugging away, no worries. Wink

Great video duf. Definitely dig your back yard set up. I'm planning something similar but will probably do all steel construction.

Nice. My stuff works well for me but both my 4x4's and 4x6's have started to warp somewhat.

Thats my main issue with using wood out here in Arizona. Its so dry here that the wood warps & splits at an alarming rate. I've already built the bar, 5' wide, 1.5" diameter, mounting plates welded on each end & powder coated black for a total of $18.76. The bar is the same material they used to build roll cages. I just need to price up the 3" x 3" square stock & get a quote to get it powder coated. Should be pretty much industructable.

Sounds nice but isn't a black bar going to get red hot in that sun? I had the option of black pipe and stayed away from it because of that.

I have done wall training. Now that I have felt what it should feel like I am hoping to just keep building from there. I am over the fear I had of back flopping.

This is arizona, any color bar is going to get hot, lol. I'm going to be stuck
to early morning or late evening workouts anyway. I should've picked a better color but the original plan was to build a pull up stand using that bar
so it would've been indoors. I'll let you know how it works out for me.

That video is really good. However I tried putting his tips into practice yesterday and was amazed how tough it was for me. Evidently my lats are not very strong at all at the top of the pull. The guy in the video makes the transition from pull to dip seem so easy and simple but I didn't feel like I had the strength in my lats to hold me at a low chest position.

Even though my weighted and regular pull up numbers are going up slowly I think this made it clear that I have to focus on pulling HIGH and hard as often as I can. If I don't develop the back/shoulder strength in that part of the movement I'm screwed.
