L sit help Empty
PostSubject: L sit help   L sit help EmptyMon Sep 19, 2011 10:29 pm

I am unable to hold a tucked L sit for more than 5 seconds. i believe its because my abdominals are not strong enough. Is there an exercise to increase my strength for this or is doing sit ups gonna be sufficent.

Right now my workout is
Pull up 12345
dip 246810
situps 3691215
chin up 12345
push up 3691215
pistols12345

any help in accomplishing this would be great help

try doing maxes for a while and see how that works out, for endurance and for strength go max but with some added weight. if you dont have a weight vest or belt just use a bag

It's not ideal but it wont harm you so long as you keep the weight low Smile

While you keep practicing the l-sit ditch the sit ups instead do front/side planks weighted /unweighted, hanging knee or leg raises all variations while hanging, mountain climbers. Some days make a super-set up for your core at the end of your workout.

Up to 5kg should be fine no problem, I'd start getting concerned over 10kg. Pretty much if it starts hurting, or the straps are starting to dig in to you, you've got too much weight Smile. Make sure you have the straps nice and tight too so the bag isn't hanging round your a$$ Wink

I know you can have quite heavy packs - especially in the military - but these tend to be specially designed and often have additional straps to help support. The weight is also well distributed in these whilst just putting weights in a bag means that it's all at the bottom rather than spread out - you also have the issue that the bag might not hold the weights too Wink
