Not much. It applies additional stress only at the top of the movement. Why don't you use a weighted vest instead? This way the weight will pull you down even when you are at the very bottom, thus immensely increasing the difficulty and effectiveness of the exercise.

Your gf, little brother, bag full of potatoes etc. Smile Improvise! You can simply fill your backpack with rocks or whatever and then do push-ups.

well, in my opinion, hip pushups are pretty hard lol. I guess you could just throw them into that routine.

Take a backpack, put some dumbbells in it and check it out.
Of course you can use it instead of weight vest
Good bp can hold even 88lbs

Power push up is great i got the 180lbs cables and 400+ lbs. IT pushes you down the whole way and if you stay straight works the core hard, and i use this with the vests to make it even harder def get one. Get the one that comes with 180lbs. it come with 3 cables per side do 1 set max out 1 cable per side, 1 set max out 2 cables per side, 1 set max out all cables , remove it do 3 explosive sets without it.

Strap yourself tighter and fill the free space in your backpack with clothes:).
