My brothers a Vegan. He weighed 210lbs last year and today he weighs 158lbs!!! Looks incredible and trains Bar-barians style now! Very proud of him. Anyway he wrote this list for my friend, X-periment Rob, cause he's kinda addicted to certain foods, so now he doesn't have to give up things he likes, instead just have healthier versions of them that hopefully still taste good lol (i've had some of these things & they're good). Figured I'd post the list for anyone interested.

butter - earth balance soy butter
mayo - vegan gourmet follow your heart organic vegenaise (with gold wrapping)
cheese - vegan gourmet follow your heart soy cheese
sour cream - vegan gourmet follow your heart organic sour cream
feta cheese or blue cheese - sunergia soy feta or blue
cream cheese - vegan gourmet follow your heart organic soy cream cheese
yogurt - whole soy co. organic soy yogurt
peanut butter - whole foods 365 organic unsweetened creamy pb
jelly - whole foods 365 all natural fruit jelly
bread, tortillas, english muffins - rudi's organic bakery
frozen burritos - amy's
ice cream - purely decadent soy ice cream
oreos- whole foods 365 all natural sandwich cookies
breakfast cereals - whole foods 365 organic cereals (cheerios, fruit loops, cinnamon crunch - basically the natural version)
chips - whole foods 365 or garden of eatin organic blue chips
salsa - whole foods 365, muir glen, publix greenwise organic salsa
oatmeal - whole foods 365 or publix greenwise organic rolled oats
maple syrup - whole foods 365 100% organic maple syrup
canned soup, chili, baked beans - amy's
fake ground meats - lightlife
bacon - lightlife smart bacon
deli meats - lightlife bologna, ham
turkey slices - tofurky
mustard - westbrae natural, whole foods 365 or annies organic
ketchup - whole foods 365 organic

Great post rick!

My very close friend is a vegan and was training with me before he injured himself (tendinitis)
I can tell you that most of the foods you mentioned are probably just as tasty as its replacement, and much better for you.

I thought my 30+lbs of weight loss was impressive from Dec '08 - May '09.. but your bro has taken this to the street! hehehe

Just wanna throw something out there. Sure, you can substitute animal products with fake ones made from vegetables, but that doesn't mean that the fake version is healthy.
Not to knock veganism down, but most 'mock' animal products are highly processed, making it more unhealthy than the actual animal products. They usually have a long list of ingredients that aren't any good for you. Instead of trying to substitute animal products, try focusing on eating more whole, healthy foods like fruits, vegetables, and beans.

Just because it comes from a plant doesn't make it perfect.

For the record, I'm a vegetarian.
